Introduction
Our client is a full-service small animal hospital in San Mateo seeking a compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join their team. For over 28 years, this practice has been dedicated to providing high-quality, professional, and compassionate veterinary care to the local community, offering a wide range of services to keep pets healthy throughout every stage of life.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, allowing the team to enjoy weekends off. The Associate Veterinarian role is full-time within these hours, with no weekend or after-hours requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care to cats and dogs, including routine wellness exams, vaccinations, internal medicine, dental care, and geriatric services. The role also includes performing surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, and other soft tissue surgeries. The position is best suited for a veterinarian committed to providing quality, compassionate care while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a broad range of veterinary services, including preventive care, general internal medicine, dentistry, geriatric support, and emergency services. Surgical offerings include spays, neuters, and soft tissue procedures. With an in-house diagnostics lab, the practice is equipped with advanced tools such as digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG/EKG, and digital dental X-rays, allowing for accurate and timely diagnoses.

Team
The practice currently has 1 DVM supported by a skilled team of registered veterinary technicians and support staff, offering a 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio. The team is highly collaborative, fostering an environment built on trust, accountability, and mutual support to ensure both patient well-being and professional satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
