We are seeking an Industrial Controls Engineer specializing in system design for custom machinery projects. This role focuses on developing complete control system architectures, including hardware selection, electrical schematics, and network layouts. The ideal candidate will excel in creating robust designs that integrate seamlessly with mechanical systems and meet customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop complete control system architectures for custom machinery.
- Select hardware components and design electrical schematics.
- Create network layouts and ensure system scalability.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers for integration.
- Prepare detailed wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, UL, and OSHA standards.
- Support installation and commissioning by providing design expertise.
- Coordinate with contractors during installation to ensure adherence to design.
- Complete required engineering documentation including DFMEA, Panel Heat Loads, Safety Risk Assessments, Motor Sizing Calculations.
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial control system design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
- Knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus).
- Strong understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Travel: 30% - 50%
- Experience with UL panel design and CE compliance.
- Familiarity with motion control and robotics integration.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
