Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing Engineering organization encompassing Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians, and Interns.
  • Establish clear expectations, performance objectives, and development plans aligned with strategic initiatives.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive alignment with 2 Second Lean principles, promoting daily waste elimination, structured problem-solving, and standardized work practices.
  • Execute additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by senior leadership.
  • Direct engineering support across machining, fabrication, assembly, coating, and cleanroom operations.
  • Lead manufacturing process improvements to reduce cycle time, increase throughput, and enhance yield.
  • Improve product manufacturability through the design and implementation of jigs, fixtures, tooling, and standardized work instructions.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex manufacturing issues and customer-driven requirements.
  • Ensure engineering documentation, drawings, and routings remain accurate, current, and compliant with internal and customer standards.
  • Oversee NPI engineering activities from concept review through production launch and stabilization.
  • Partner with Program Management, Quality, and Production to ensure smooth transitions from prototype builds to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Collaborate directly with customers to address technical requirements, design changes, tolerance analyses, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Program Management to align priorities and resolve production challenges.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and effective communication of technical information at all organizational levels.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, internal audits, and customer audits as required.
  • Oversee engineering document control processes in compliance with QMS, customer requirements, and change management best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in digital tools and systems including M2M, Paperless Parts, and CAD/PDM platforms to streamline engineering workflows.
  • Support data-driven decision-making through the development and use of dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure engineering solutions meet safety standards, minimize risk, and improve ergonomics.
  • Partner with Quality to reduce defects, improve first-pass yield, and support root-cause and corrective action processes.
  • Promote compliance with AS9100, ISO standards, and customer-specific regulatory requirements.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience, ideally within machining, fabrication, or aerospace/semiconductor production environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience of two or more years overseeing engineering teams or technical functions.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), ERP platforms (M2M a plus), and engineering data management systems.
  • Solid technical foundation in GD&T, machining and fabrication methods, and manufacturing process development.
  • Documented success leading Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Highly effective communicator with proven leadership, organizational, and project execution skills.
