AvionX is hiring an experienced Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team designing nextgeneration avionics in St Louis, MO. This role is ideal for engineers with solid systems or electrical engineering experience who are ready to take on increased technical ownership and crossfunctional leadership on aircraft or avionics programs.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including : Senior and Lead Systems Engineer.
Position Responsibilities
Translate stakeholder needs into systemlevel requirements and manage requirement traceability through design, integration, and verification
Develop and maintain system architectures, interface control documents, and functional/physical allocations
Coordinate system integration activities across avionics, flight controls, software, and mechanical teams
Lead verification planning and execution for assigned system; analyze test results and manage closure of verification items
Support safety and certification artifacts and analyses (e.g., FHA, PSSA, FMEA) and work with certification teams as required
Interface with suppliers and suppliers engineering organizations to ensure correct requirement flow and integration
Maintain configuration control and contribute to engineering change proposals
Mentor junior engineers and communicate program status and technical issues to midlevel leadership
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
5+ years of experience managing system requirements and participating in verification/validation activities
5+ years of experience with systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS) and common office/productivity tools
5+ years of experience demonstrating ability to work in scheduledriven programs and to make tradeoffs between schedule, cost, and technical risk.
Experience on electrical systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ModelBased Systems Engineering (SysML, Cameo, MagicDraw) and MBSE workflows
5+ years of experience with avionics architectures
Prior supplier engineering or systems integration experience
Experience with hardware qualification testing
5+ years of experience collaborating with cross disciplinary teams
