Electro Mechanical Engineer Job Description

The Electro Mechanical Engineer will perform a variety of multi-trade functions, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, installation, and replacement of components, basic design, simple fabrication, adjustment, rebuilding, and welding.

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install components, as well as perform basic design, adjustment, and welding.
  • Possess knowledge of electrical power, hydraulic power, air power, PLC, light curtains, safety devices, and repair and replacement of test cables.
  • Read blueprints, engineering sketches, or designs and recognize details and variations.
  • Keep accurate records for replacement part ordering and regular equipment inspection.
  • Work with rigging and scaffolding, using ropes, chains, cables, hoists, jacks, and lift trucks to move heavy equipment.
  • Operate powered hand tools and occasionally perform welding projects.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and understand how components fit and work together.
  • Communicate effectively on issues such as scope of work, completion schedules, problems, solutions, materials, or parts required.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Basic knowledge of electrical power (proper wire size for current, amps, Volts, AC, DC).
  • Understanding of hydraulic power (cylinders, valves, proper oil understanding force as applied).
  • Familiarity with air power (cylinders, valves, mufflers, and other air components).
  • Experience with PLC (ladder logic control and functions as pertains to machine operation).
  • Knowledge of light curtains and other safety devices.
  • Capability to repair and replace test cables.
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering sketches.
  • Skill in operating powered hand tools and stationary machine tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electro-Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or military maintenance environment.
  • Experience with PLC programming, pneumatics, hydraulic, ladder logic, and industrial controls is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
