Responsibilities:
  • Developing, training, and executing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures that support a zero-harm workplace and safety-focused culture.
  • Oversee occupational safety initiatives, monitor key metrics and KPIs, and ensure accurate, comprehensive reporting.
  • Design and implement proactive safety programs that foster a culture of accountability and ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, local, and industry regulations.
  • Communicate the organization's safety vision and values to employees, promoting understanding, adherence, and support for safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all safety and health training, along with associated documentation, meets or exceeds company and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with management and department leaders to develop and maintain robust safety training programs for all employees, including Lift Truck, Lockout/Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens, General Safety Inspections, SDS, PPE, and Hazard Communication.
  • Implement and manage a thorough incident investigation process, identifying root causes and developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Drive continuous improvement by auditing work areas, analyzing incident data, and recommending measures to reduce or eliminate risk exposure.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver company-wide safety meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • Lead effectively through influence and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain accurate safety reporting systems, including SDS management and OSHA 300/300A/301 logs.
  • Work independently with strong self-motivation to meet daily goals and objectives.
  • Follow and support all relevant safety and GMP practices in the performance of job duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience designing safety programs.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CFRs and regulatory standards.
  • Background in preparing for and executing capital projects.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
