Utility Project Manager - Data Centers

The Utility Project Manager plays a key role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of utility infrastructure projects across Data Centers' mission-critical facilities. this role ensures the reliable, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of power, water, and gas systems supporting large-scale data center operations.

Responsibilities of the Utility Project Manager:

Lead the end-to-end management of utility infrastructure projects, including power, water, and gas systems, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.

Act as the primary liaison with utility providers, managing negotiations, service connections, and long-term partnerships.

Oversee installation and upgrades of critical systems such as power distribution, generators, HVAC, and water treatment.

Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed project budgets, schedules, and reports for multiple concurrent projects.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including permits, safety codes, and environmental standards across jurisdictions.

Provide mentorship and technical direction to engineers, coordinators, and contractors.

Promote energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability initiatives across new and existing data center facilities.

Conduct on-site visits to monitor progress, resolve challenges, and ensure project alignment with specifications.

Qualifications for the Utility Project Manager:

5-7 years of experience in utility project management, infrastructure planning, or energy systems.

Strong technical background in power distribution, HVAC, water, and gas systems.

Proven experience working with utility companies, regulatory agencies, and construction teams.

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical codes, permitting processes, and sustainability best practices.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills;

PMP certification or equivalent project management training is an asset.

Willingness to travel frequently across North America.
