What you’ll do

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear that meets their needs, preferences, and lifestyle.
• Conduct comprehensive fittings and adjustments for eyeglasses and contact lenses.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards.
• Collaborate with optometrists to interpret prescriptions and provide necessary information regarding ocular health.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and contact lens usage.
• Manage inventory levels of optical products while utilizing retail math to optimize sales performance.
• Provide exceptional customer service through effective communication and retail sales techniques.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and clinic protocols.

Basic qualifications

• Licensed Optician certification or equivalent experience in optical settings.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology and anatomy.
• Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, including Revolution EHR.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in pediatrics or senior care settings is a plus.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to optical manufacturing (edging lenses)
• Background in retail management or sales within the optical industry.
• Ability to measure vital signs as needed for patient assessments.
