Introduction
A modern small animal hospital in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Medical Director to guide its clinical team while remaining actively engaged in day-to-day practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys a balance of hands-on medicine and mentorship, within a setting that prioritizes clinical autonomy, thoughtful leadership, and high standards of patient and client care. The Medical Director will play a key role in shaping the hospital culture while continuing to practice medicine at a high level.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with a consistent daytime schedule. The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and closed on Sundays. The role is structured so that approximately 85 percent of time is dedicated to clinical responsibilities and 15 percent to leadership and team development.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide comprehensive medical and surgical care to companion animals while also serving as a mentor and clinical leader for the veterinary team. Leadership responsibilities include guiding standards of care, supporting associate veterinarians through coaching and case collaboration, and helping coordinate doctor scheduling to support both hospital needs and team wellbeing. The role also involves close collaboration with operational leadership to support medical quality, workflow efficiency, and a positive client experience. The ideal candidate is confident clinically, approachable as a leader, and passionate about creating a supportive, high-performing team environment.

The hospital focuses on small animal medicine for dogs and cats and is designed to support efficient, modern general practice. Emphasis is placed on patient-centered care, clear communication, and the freedom for veterinarians to practice medicine according to their professional judgment rather than rigid corporate protocols. Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
