Job Summary
Position oversees and delivers a full range of high-quality, patient-centered professional primary care services in an outpatient clinical setting. Exercises extensive independent judgment in clinic service delivery, staff management and strategic clinic operations. Works closely with Executive Leadership and clinic personnel in fulfilling the responsibilities of this multi-functional role. Works closely with the Chief Business Officer in creating and executing strategies that increase clinic patient populations, promote clinic services, and build partnerships throughout the organization’s service areas. Incumbent serves as the medical subject matter expert for the organization and represents the clinic for outreach and networking purposes.
Job Purpose
Position oversees clinic medical and non-medical personnel and operations, ensuring risk management and quality of care and developing and implementing all medical processes, practices and policies of clinic operations. Provides leadership and operational management of clinic and organization goals and objectives. Develops and leads the implementation, evaluation and continuity of all clinic services, operations and personnel, ensuring clinical quality, administrative efficiency and patient-centered strategy in the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
Job Factors
Minimum Education Level Required
Medical degree from an accredited institution, Board certification in internal or family medicine, active State of Florida licensure, and federal DEA certification without restrictions. HIV/AIDS certification (AAHIVS) and ACLS or BLS certifications preferred.
Minimum Experience Level Required
Minimum eight years’ experience practicing medicine in a healthcare practice or clinical setting, minimum three years as medical director. Previous experience treating HIV/AIDS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Current credentialing with major insurance providers in Florida.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care, preferably inclusive of HIV/AIDS.
- Comprehensive knowledge of quality, safety and infection control standards and their applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, associated clinical program technology (electronic medical/health records) and vendor billing platforms and software; eCW preferred.
- Knowledge and practical application of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of specified area of expertise.
- Knowledge of healthcare practice operations including electronic health records, associated billing administration, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.)
- Self-directed and self-motivated, proactively prioritizing competing demands efficiently and independently.
- Strong leadership and team development skills including management, mentoring, training and advising clinical professionals and student teams;
- Strong project management and strategic planning skills that set clear task objectives, achieve desired outcomes, and advance program viability.
- Knowledge and understanding of drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and the ability to prescribe dosage and instruct patients in correct usage.
- Strong interpersonal skills, socially oriented toward problem-solving and community-building.
- Exceptional time management, professionalism and organizational skills and abilities.

Environmental Conditions
Indoors in an environmentally controlled space with exposure to environmental hazards (contaminants, hazardous equipment and infectious disease.) Occasional work outdoors exposed to elements.
Frequent performance of position duties while standing, walking and while in motion and manipulating medical devices and other equipment.
Frequent computer use at a workstation up to two hours or more at a time.
Frequently fast-paced work with unscheduled interruptions.
Work may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime and evening/weekend hours in order to meet patient care demands.
Public contact position requiring clinic-appropriate apparel and use of personal protective equipment.
