Conduct discovery investigations relating to legal proceedings, potential liability issues, claims, and personnel matters for those members of the insurance pools administered.
Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receive investigation assignments from PLP Assistant, Director of Investigations, Contract Attorneys, Claim Adjustors, and/or Pre-Litigation Director.
- Coordinate investigations with client point of contact and communicate regularly with them during the investigation.
- Travel throughout Washington State in your personal vehicle.
- Required to engage in overnight travel throughout the week as necessary.
- Interview of complaints, subjects, witnesses and potential witnesses.
- Locate missing or hard to find people and information.
- Maintain liaisons with outside agencies and organizations to ease the access of information.
- Manage the investigation/case until closing.
- Update Pre-Litigation Director, Claims Adjusters and Director of Investigations on challenges and progress of investigations
- Gather reports and documents relating to claims or Pre-Litigation issues.
- Confer with claim supervisors relating to evaluation of reports and investigations assembled by outside investigative agencies.
- Assemble investigation notes and documents clearly and concisely describing the information discovered during the investigation.
- Draft Investigation reports, review for accuracy, and submit for attorney review in a timely manner.
- Attend Investigation, PLP and All-Teammate Meetings on a regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be self-motivated, willing and able to work with minimal supervision to meet the needs of our clients and Clear Risk.
- Must have basic knowledge of the Criminal Justice system, as well as basic knowledge relating to Civil Law proceedings.
- Must possess a working knowledge of School and Employment Law.
- Must possess strong interviewing skills of child and adult complainants, witnesses and subjects.
- Must be able to efficiently work with Microsoft Office products, and other online programs.
- Must be articulate and able to draft comprehensive reports relating to the relevant allegations.
- Be flexible enough to be reassigned to additional duties, as deemed necessary by management or in the event of an emergency.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised or in teams.
- Possess a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and computer skills.
- Professional office dress is mandatory. Must present oneself in a professional manner, including personal hygiene and appearance.
- Regular attendance is essential and expected for the effective operation of the company.

Required
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Possess valid WA State Driver's License
- Overnight and extensive travel required
- At least 2 years' experience of conducting thorough discovery investigations.
- Computer skills required.
- Obtain and maintain a current Washington State Private Investigators License.
- Routine or periodic travel which will require the teammate to drive their own vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone on a constant basis for at least 7-10 hours per day.
Speech and hearing are sufficient for in-person and telephone communication on a constant basis for at least 7-10 hours per day.
Vision sufficient for the use of a computer monitor and operation of a motor vehicle.
Ability to sit at a desk on a constant basis for at least 7-10 hours per day.
Annual Salary: $81,000.00 - $90,000.00
Pay Range
81000.00 - 90000.00 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
