Pay: $24 - $34 per hour

Location: Columbus, OH area

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7pm - 4pm with overtime

Position Overview

The Forklift Field Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting lift truck service call issues and performing repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment based upon customer demands as directed by the service dispatcher or manager. This position must also promote service maintenance programs and the company in general, and provide high quality service to ensure an optimal customer experience.

Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on lift trucks

Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions using schematics and diagnostic tools

Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance in line with company procedures

Accurately document all repairs and maintenance performed

Operate lift trucks for testing and performance checks

Collaborate with dispatchers to plan daily work efficiently and maximize productivity

Communicate with parts and sales teams to meet customer needs

Maintain a clean, organized service van and manage inventory of tools and parts

Uphold professional appearance and customer-facing communication

Ensure a clean driving record and operate company vehicle safely

Demonstrate good judgment and personal attitude, which are essential to maintaining our company reputation for results orientated service, good will and professionalism

Perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum one to three years' relevant experience and/or training preferred

Excellent mechanical aptitude

Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and general equipment operation theory preferred

Ability to read and interpret electronic and hydraulic diagrams and schematics

Exceptional customer service skills

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
