Veterinary Surgeon (Veterinary Specialist)

Introduction
A progressive equine practice in Longmont, Colorado is seeking a full-time Equine Surgeon to join its team. The hospital is home to a group of ten veterinarians and specialists who provide advanced equine care, with a particular focus on sports medicine, lameness, and high-performance horses.

Working Hours / Rota
Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with emergency services provided 24 hours a day. This position is dedicated to elective surgeries only, with no after-hours surgical responsibilities. Shared on-call duties are limited to clinical support.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Equine Surgeon will perform elective soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, support advanced diagnostics and lameness evaluations, collaborate with referring veterinarians, and provide mentorship to interns and staff. This role is ideal for a surgeon who values a collaborative, team-oriented environment with an emphasis on client communication and high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
