Position OverviewThe Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University is a growing practice. We are seeking a Full time clinical Oculoplastic Surgeon to join the Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, research, and education in Oculoplastics at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care in Oculoplastics, including clinical services with or without trainees.
- Conduct teaching across medical students, residents, fellows, undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows, both clinical and didactic.
- Engage in research, quality improvement initiatives, curriculum development, and other scholarly activities consistent with faculty assignment.
- Serve on divisional, departmental, and college committees and participate in local, regional, or national professional organizations.
- Support the academic mission of the Department in collaboration with the Department Chair and Division Director.
- U.S. citizenship (due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs).
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology by appointment and eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio.
- MD or DO degree with completion of an approved ophthalmology residency and an ASOPRS-approved fellowship or membership in ASOPRS, with additional appropriate training in Oculoplastics.
- Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
- Knowledge and proficiency in the medical and surgical management of Oculoplastics.
- Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery evidenced by basic and/or clinical applied research and publications.
- Commitment to residents, fellows, and medical students.
