Located in Columbus, OH, this contract position offers an opportunity to support students in an elementary school setting as an Intervention Specialist within a K-8 school environment. Serving a cross-categorical caseload primarily focused on grades 3-6, this role involves providing specialized educational support to students with various disabilities, including Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), and minor Other Health Impairments (OHI).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional support and interventions for students with diverse special education needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress, provide ongoing assessments, and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Provide itinerant services as required, including paid travel between designated school locations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (Education Unlimited License not accepted).
- Experience working with elementary-aged children (grades 3-6) with cross-categorical disabilities.
- Strong understanding of special education law and best practices for teaching students with SLD, ID, and OHI.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
