General Practice Medical Director (Medical Director Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a full-service hospital located in Ocala, Florida, seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to lead their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian ready to step into a leadership role or take the next step in their career. The hospital is dedicated to delivering high-quality veterinary care and is looking for a leader who can guide medical protocols, foster team development, and support ongoing mentorship.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The hospital is closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, the veterinarian will oversee clinical practices, mentor fellow doctors, and guide the medical team in providing gold-standard care. Responsibilities include performing soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, managing complex internal medicine cases, and supporting services such as dental surgery, cold laser therapy, and geriatric care. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a collaborative approach to clinical oversight and mentorship.

Practice Details
The hospital offers a wide range of services including wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, diagnostics, dental care, cold laser therapy, and geriatric services. Common surgeries include spays and neuters, C-sections, mass removals, ocular procedures, foreign body extractions, cystectomies, urethrectomies, and orthopedic and dental surgeries. The hospital is equipped to support comprehensive care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The hospital is home to 4 DVMs and a skilled support staff committed to collaboration, growth, and high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
