Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Quality Assurance Manager or Location Laboratory Manager as required.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing Quality Management and Safety Programs.
  • Support training, coaching, mentoring, and developing team members; lead team engagement activities that drive continuous quality improvement.
  • Conduct Test Method Assessments to evaluate efficiency and determine whether updates or modifications are needed.
  • Perform Test Method Witnessing to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Provide input on employee performance evaluations, specifically regarding safety and quality.
  • Manage the Document Control System, including:
  • Non-Conformance Reports
  • Quality Guidelines
  • Statistical Quality Control data
  • Management of Change documentation
  • New and existing equipment inventories
  • Data review processes
  • Development of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Investigation and documentation of non-conforming samples
  • Oversee consistent quality testing and reporting by maintaining strong laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Communicate product quality and safety expectations to laboratory personnel.
  • Monitor the laboratory environment to identify opportunities to strengthen safety and quality practices.
  • Report laboratory process performance and compliance deviations to management.
  • Ensure all laboratory instruments are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Troubleshoot daily laboratory quality issues.
  • Assist in developing new test methods.
  • Review, analyze, and report Round Robin data.
  • Investigate customer complaints, collaborate with management on corrective actions, and support customer satisfaction efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating quality-related safety activities, including protocols and testing procedures.
  • Perform additional laboratory, safety, and quality tasks as assigned by management.
  • Read and follow all job duties and safety requirements in English.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required; management may modify responsibilities at any time.

Additional Requirements:
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT and OSHA requirements related to quality, health, and safety.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical materials, procedures, safety documentation, and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports and correspondence.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from management and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address practical issues in environments with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagrammatic, and scheduled instructions.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to travel locally, with occasional out-of-town assignments.
  • Must be able to work in refineries, terminals, onboard marine vessels, and laboratory environments.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of QHSE management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of company quality systems.
  • Analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills; Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact across all organizational levels and diverse cultures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated history of reliability and professionalism.
