Raleigh General Hospital's Cardiovascular Services Department includes a two-bay Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory performing approximately 1,200 cardiology and vascular procedures annually, supported by 24/7 STEMI coverage. The team specializes in catheter-based interventions. The department provides comprehensive vascular care, including medical and surgical management, peripheral vascular interventions, vein care, and wound care. A skilled, multidisciplinary team ensures coordinated, high-quality care for patients with complex cardiovascular and vascular conditions.
How you'll contribute
The Director of Cardiovascular Services (DCS) provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the Cardiovascular Service Line at Raleigh General Hospital. This role is accountable for designing and implementing innovative programs, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care across the continuum. The DCS will collaborate with providers, staff, and leadership to elevate clinical performance and patient experience..
- Serve as the accountable leader for all aspects of Cardiovascular Services.
Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive strategic plan for the service line (ambulatory, acute, post-acute, and community care).
Drive continuous improvement in outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction.
Lead the design and evaluation of new programs and innovations to improve quality and efficiency.
Partner with quality leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and advance toward becoming a highly reliable organization.
Collaborate with other service line leaders, facility leadership, and system executives to provide consistent, patient-centered care.
Support provider and staff recruitment, retention, and engagement.
Ensure financial performance of the Cardiovascular Service Line.
Demonstrate Raleigh General Hospital's values through inspirational leadership and a commitment to patient-centered outcomes.
- Collaboration: Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and service delivery.
- Other Duties: Maintain regular and reliable attendance and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Recruits, mentors, and develops perioperative nursing staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Oversees ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
Schedule: This leadership position is full-time, Exempt, and benefited position.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current WV RN license (or eligible for licensure).
- 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in Cardiovascular Services
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships with surgeons and anesthesia providers.
- Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in surgical or acute care settings.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement performance-improvement initiatives.
- BLS and ACLS required (or obtained within a defined timeframe)
