Job Description
J.B. Hunt is Now Hiring Mobile Trailer Technicians
Responsible for performing intermediate service and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors, trailers, chassis, containers or power equipment. Under routine supervision, this role works outside of the shop, servicing equipment at customer sites or rail yards using our mobile service truck.
Job Description:
- Perform intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs, including tire replacements, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics and basic structural repairs on tractor or trailer equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair ABS system
- Properly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventory
- Assist with the onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician trainees
- Follow all safety requirements while onsite and at customer locations
- Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures
- Properly document damage to company equipment to estimate cost of repairs
- Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment
- Patch holes in trailer or container side panels and roofs
- Perform annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under direct supervision

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age with 1 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
- AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
- Must be DOT-certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes
- Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
- Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
- Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed
Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
