Core Lab Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

• Direct Core Lab operations to deliver timely, cost-effective, and high-quality testing services.
• Work with the Senior Director to establish testing systems, schedules, and staffing plans that ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, aligning marketing priorities with operational requirements.
• Lead quality assurance initiatives and promote continuous improvement across all chemistry functions.
• Collaborate with Medical and Technical Directors to create policies compliant with CLIA '88, CAP, and other regulatory standards; maintain constant CAP readiness and support accreditation inspections.
• Oversee method validation and verification for new assays and instruments; assess the test menu and recommend enhancements.
• Supervise and mentor Core Lab team leaders and technical staff, ensuring clear communication, training, and consistent performance feedback.
• Manage all HR-related documentation-including timecards, evaluations, and training checklists-and ensure timely completion.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on projects, sales activities, and organizational initiatives.
• Prepare and deliver monthly reports detailing quality metrics, productivity, financial performance, and budget variances.
• Ensure full compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements; contribute to policy development and review.
• Provide technical consultation to clients such as hospitals, laboratories, physician offices, and industry partners.
• Maintain and update procedure manuals according to document control standards.
• Support training programs for students, residents, and fellows; reinforce staff competency and ongoing professional development.
• Lead departmental safety efforts and promote a strong culture of safety aligned with company policies.
• Build and maintain professional relationships externally and advocate for process improvements across the organization.
• Perform additional technical, administrative, or educational duties as needed to advance the mission.

Required Experience:

• Medical Lab Technician/Medical Lab Scientist with ASCP Certification
• 3-5 years' experience
• Excellent communication and team building skills.
• Ability to work within specified deadlines and timetables.
• Possible expose to biological or chemical hazard.
