What You'll Do

As a Senior .NET Web Application Developer, will be part of a small, collaborative team supporting multiple applications within ODJFS/OIS using .NET and MVC development. The role involves both enhancing existing production applications and developing new solutions within an Agile project management framework.

Key responsibilities include participating in daily stand-ups, collaborating with team members, maintaining documentation, and engaging with various departments to gather requirements and provide technical support. The developer will work closely with Architecture staff and IT Managers to design and implement solutions that align with business needs.

In addition to core development tasks, the role includes mentoring and supporting other technical staff by offering guidance on complex issues. The developer will be involved throughout the entire software development lifecycle and will have opportunities to work with modern tools and technologies. Continuous learning is encouraged, with regular chances to expand technical skills as new technologies emerge.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with IT Managers to test and document new technologies that align with agency needs and requirements
  • Analyzes the business case for solution designs
  • Develops, designs, and maintains core .NET, web, and mobile applications using APIs and interfaces
  • Performs code reviews and ensures agency application development standards are met
  • Serves as technical lead, as assigned
  • Provides post-production support for applications of varying size, scope, and impact, including support for load balancing, failover, and clustering

Schedule: Full-time

Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Travel: Occasional travel within the state of Ohio.

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

OPTION 1:

  • 60 months work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications

AND

  • 12 months work experience in MS .NET Environment (e.g., C#, Visual Studio, Azure, .NET core, MVC, etc.)

Option 2:

  • 42 months work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications

AND

  • 12 months work experience in MS .NET Environment (e.g., C#, Visual Studio, Azure, .NET core, MVC, etc.)

AND

  • Completion of Associate's core program in Computer Science or Information Systems

Option 3:

  • 36 months work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications

AND

  • 12 months work experience in MS .NET Environment (e.g., C#, Visual Studio, Azure, .NET core, MVC, etc.)

AND

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in Computer Science or Information Systems

Or

  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio's OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 36. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $44.66 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
