Job DescriptionJob Description Environmental Scientist Geotechnical Consultants Inc. (GCI) is a 46 year-old civil engineering company specializing in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, field and construction services, special inspections, and steel testing throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. GCI is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time environmental consulting position in our Columbus, Ohio office. Involving both office and field work related to environmental assessments, the ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a willingness to work outdoors, and ability to interact with regulators and clientele. Experience in Phase I/Phase II ESAs and other environmental services catering to the real estate development industry is a plus. Qualifications: Bachelors in environmental science, geology, or related field. 2+ years' experience in related field. Experience with Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments . Field work will include sampling soil, groundwater, soil gas, and/or air. Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment. Possess strong technical writing skills and have knowledge of writing detailed technical reports. Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field. Familiar with Microsoft Office programs Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements. Ability to routinely lift varying weights from 10-50 pounds. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPR is a plus. Ability to pass drug test and general background check.
