CDL A OTR Driver

DEPARTMENT
SLC OTR Refrigerated Trucking Operations

REPORTS TO
Lead Dispatchers and OTR Management

STATUS
Exempt

ROLE SUMMARY

This position operates combination vehicles to pick up and deliver refrigerated freight across regional and long haul routes. Drivers support the SLC OTR fleet with consistent on time performance, safe equipment operation, and excellent customer service. Strong communication, attention to detail, and full DOT compliance are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pickups and Deliveries
• Pick up and deliver freight and required paperwork
• Verify Bills of Lading and freight counts
• Record shortages, overages, or damage
• Follow procedures for inspection and reporting requirements

Equipment and Compliance
• Complete daily pre trip inspections
• Maintain accurate logs and DOT paperwork
• Operate safely under all Federal, State, and local laws
• Maintain tractor and trailer cleanliness and coordinate repairs
• Use required placards and follow hazardous material procedures

Customer Service
• Represent DTS professionally at all customer locations
• Communicate clearly with dispatch to maintain schedules and expectations

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid CDL A with proper endorsements
• Clean driving record
• Two years of recent tractor trailer experience
• Ability to operate safely in all weather conditions
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations
• Ability to lift up to seventy five pounds
• Professional communication and customer service skills
