Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix IV medications using sterile techniques and accurate dose calculations.
- Package and ship supplies and equipment to care facilities.
- Maintain detailed records of IV mixing and compounding activities.
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of pharmacy equipment.
- Program and manage infusion pumps, including elastomeric devices.
- Enter and manage data for IV orders in pharmacy systems.
- Source and order supplies from approved vendors.
- Complete technician assignments as directed by pharmacy leadership.
- Track equipment and supplies in the rental log system.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for client services and internal processes.
- Support safety protocols and ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to special projects.
Essential Skills
- Experience in IV compounding.
- Active national or state pharmacy technician certification.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Effective communication skills in both verbal and written English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with elastomeric pumps is preferred.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy technician role is preferred, especially in sterile compounding.
