Software Solutions Engineer

This role is for an experienced Software Developer responsible for designing, developing, and installing high-quality, innovative software solutions. The developer will work independently on medium to large projects within either a Waterfall or Agile framework, focusing on compliance with internal standards and collaborating heavily with Project Management, Business Analysis, and Infrastructure teams.

Position is in Columbus, OH

Essential Functions & Key Tasks

Software Development Lifecycle:

Design, develop, modify, write, implement, and troubleshoot software programming applications.

Build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software solutions.

Ensure compliance with internal architecture, development, and design standards and best practices.

Support and/or install software applications.

Analysis and Problem Solving:

Develop advanced solutions to resolve customer and prospective customer issues logically and creatively.

Interpret specifications and build solutions to those specifications.

Align the client's goals, needs, and objectives to the solutions delivered.

Collaboration and Documentation:

Collaborate heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst, and Infrastructure teams.

Participate in the testing process (test review, analysis, witnessing, and certification).

Generate infrastructure support documentation.

Communicate issues and status clearly and timely.

Leadership and Improvement:

Work independently on medium to large projects.

Evaluate and propose process improvements.

May provide training and mentoring and work direction to others on the team.

Front-End:

HTML/CSS/JavaScript

Other Key Technologies:

Spring Boot

SQL

Understanding of Containers

Development Practices:

Experience with CI/CD practices (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery).

Familiarity with Git (version control).

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and related experience).

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
