We are hiring board certified/eligible Supplemental Intensivist at Legacy Hospitals , primary location for this position is at our tertiary care hospital in downtown Portland. You will be the newest member of a highly functioning department practice of 35 physicians and 5 Advanced Practice Providers within Legacy Medical Group which is a multispecialty group of 350+ employed providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hospital-based critical care, as the attending physician-of-record or as a subspecialty consultant as requested by members of the medical staff.
  • Perform the normal and customary functions of a physician practicing critical medicine.
  • Primary admitting service for neurocritical care patients, with cross-coverage on neurointerventional patients.
  • Medical management of patients with advanced cardiopulmonary disease, including patients requiring mechanical circulatory support and ECMO, with cross-coverage on cardiothoracic surgery patients.
  • Supervise internal medicine house staff caring for patients on our medical and neurointensive care services.
  • Work collaboratively with critical care advanced practice providers.

Qualification and Licensure Requirements

  • Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or the equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or anesthesia and fellowship in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Medicine and/or Neuro Critical Care Medicine.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Oregon.
  • Current ACLS certification from the AHA.
  • DEA certification.
  • Training and/or experience in VV and VA ECMO a plus.
