Our client, a leading healthcare organization specializing in medical services and patient care, is seeking a Verification of Benefits Specialist to join their team. As a Verification of Benefits Specialist, you will be part of the Medical Support Department supporting the Claims and Authorization Team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Verification of Benefits Specialist
Location: Plano, TX
Pay Range: $20-21/ hr
What's the Job?
- Assist with multiple levels of appeal in the event of initial coverage denial.
- Forward authorized confirmation for procedures to designated patient providers.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously within specific time frames.
- Verify benefits and complete authorization requests promptly.
- Train patients and their designated providers on pre-authorization processes and requirements, in person or by phone.
What's Needed?
- Associate degree in Nursing/Home Health (LVN/LPN) or related field required.
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in a utilization (medical approval) environment or similar work experience.
- Knowledge of private insurance, Workers Compensation, and Medicare guidelines pertaining to Prospective and Retrospective Utilization Review.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel specifically).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
