Our client is an AAHA-accredited animal hospital based in Hampton, Virginia, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their long-established and close-knit team. Serving the community for nearly 70 years, this hospital is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care for dogs and cats, with a strong emphasis on client relationships and continuity of care. The practice is proud of its excellent staff retention, with many team members having worked there for more than a decade, reflecting its supportive and positive work culture.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The hospital is closed on Sundays, allowing for work-life balance. Veterinarians enjoy a flexible schedule, with opportunities for full-time, part-time work depending on preference. A dedicated break period from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. each weekday ensures time for lunch, client callbacks, and charting.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care for small animals, supported by an experienced team and visiting specialists. Clinical duties include preventive wellness exams, diagnostics, general and soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and laser therapy. Collaboration with colleagues and effective client communication are key components of the role. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, particularly those with prior experience as a technician or assistant. Mentorship and professional development support are available to ensure success in this position.

The facility includes laser therapy, radiology, surgical suites, and dental equipment, complemented by visiting specialists in surgery and ultrasonography who provide additional diagnostic and treatment options. The hospital operates alongside a boarding and daycare facility, providing a convenient and trusted option for pet owners within the Hampton community.

Team
The hospital is currently home to one dedicated veterinarian, with plans to expand the team. The doctor is supported by a strong and experienced group of technicians and assistants, including four licensed veterinary technicians and several long-term staff members. With more than 10 employees who have been part of the team for over a decade, the hospital fosters a family-oriented, collaborative environment where every team member plays a vital role in delivering compassionate care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
