Porter (PT)

Uncle Giuseppes Marketplace is seeking a Part-Time Porter to join our East Meadow team! If you take pride in keeping things clean, organized, and safeand you enjoy helping othersthis is the perfect opportunity for you.

Our Porters play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our store. They handle daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window washing, and trash removal. Porters also assist with minor repairs, transport items, restock supplies, and ensure that all areas remain neat and welcoming for customers and staff.

Physical stamina is important, as this position requires being on your feet for most of your shift, which may include evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Maintain Cleanliness
Keep our store spotless and inviting through consistent cleaning, disinfecting, and general maintenance using proper techniques and tools.

Monitor Supplies
Track and restock cleaning materials such as tissues, paper products, and sanitizing supplies. Notify management when inventory runs low.

Assist Customers
Greet customers warmly and help with small requests or direct them to the appropriate team member for further assistance.

Report Issues
Stay alert for any safety hazards, customer concerns, or maintenance needs and report them promptly to management.

This position involves continuous movement on hard surfaces and frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and handling of materials (up to 30 lbs alone, heavier items with assistance).
Work is primarily indoors, often near machinery or equipment, and may involve exposure to temperature variations, cleaning agents, or sharp tools as part of normal job duties.
