Job Description

KPRC 2 is looking for an Events & Partnerships Coordinator to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of station and community events - with a strong focus on developing exclusive, revenue-generating experiences that elevate our brand and deliver measurable results.

This role serves as a key connector between our station, local businesses, community partners, nonprofit organizations, and news content partners to create opportunities that enhance visibility, strengthen community ties, and drive new streams of revenue.

At KPRC 2 you will join a creative, collaborative team that values innovation, initiative, and local impact. You will have the opportunity to shape how we connect with our viewers, build new partnerships, and drive revenue through memorable community experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, conceptualize, and produce exclusive, unique station-branded events (e.g., local festivals, speaker series, lifestyle expos, viewing parties, awards programs) that engage attendees, sponsors and deliver high-impact, revenue-generating experiences.
  • Manage all event logistics, including scheduling, vendor coordination, staffing, equipment, signage, and promotional materials.
  • Develop strategic news content partnerships that strengthen the station's connection with the community, support local storytelling, and create opportunities for meaningful collaboration and promotional initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, nonprofits, schools, and local businesses to create mutually beneficial, revenue-positive partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the News, Creative Services, and Sales teams to support community-based content, promotional opportunities, and sponsorship package development.
  • Serve as the liaison between the station and external partners for sponsored and promotional collaborations.
  • Track budgets, invoices, sponsorship revenue, and event performance metrics to evaluate success and inform future planning.
  • Represent the station at community events with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a focus on brand impact and relationship growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in event planning, community relations, marketing, or partnership development.
  • Proven success in developing and executing revenue-generating events (through sponsorships or ticket sales) is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills - comfortable engaging with community leaders, sponsors, and audiences.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends for events as needed.
  • Passion for community engagement, creative storytelling, and local media.

Why This Role Matters

The Events & Partnerships Coordinator connects the station with the community through meaningful experiences and strategic partnerships. This role drives brand visibility, engagement, and revenue, helping the station remain a trusted, impactful, and relevant presence in the lives of its audience.
