We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager with strong hospitality experience to join our leadership team at Castiglia's Italian Restaurant.
Our Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining food quality standards, managing inventory and labor costs, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for Italian cuisine, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. This position is both hands-on and interactive, offering an engaging experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop continuous menu specials and introduce new dishes.
- Collaborate with management to design a memorable dining experience for our guests.
- Assess plated dishes for quality and accuracy, ensuring they align with company ticket times.
- Oversee staff adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations established by the local health department and the company.
- Ensure proper food preparation and maintain appropriate temperature control.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to consistently deliver high-quality menu items promptly.
- Be willing to assist with kitchen tasks during busy periods.
- Manage kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area.
- Collaborate with the team to create innovative dishes.
- Oversee inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock effectively.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring of new kitchen staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Experience:
- 3+ years of kitchen management or culinary leadership experience (Italian cuisine preferred)
- Proven expertise as a Kitchen Manager.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly desirable.
- Strong background in culinary arts and food service management.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software.
- Knowledge of effectively supervising, training, and motivating kitchen staff.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and evenings.
