The Warehouse Lead is responsible for providing front-line leadership, support, and operational updates to ensure daily efficiency and team success. This role involves coordinating workflow, training, coaching associates, and maintaining a safe, organized, and productive environment. The Warehouse Lead acts as a bridge between employees and management, ensuring process compliance, productivity goals, and continuous improvement.
During non-peak periods, this position may assist with production activities, serve as a backup shuttle driver, or support operations at the Obetz facility.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations for teams of 1025 employees
Lead and support warehouse drivers, freezer pickers, and material handlers
Oversee and participate in refrigerated and freezer environments as needed
Train, coach, and provide feedback to team members to meet performance standards
Monitor workflow, identify and resolve process or material flow issues
Conduct daily start-up meetings and cover for the Supervisor when necessary
Track productivity and output through WMS and other reporting systems
Support employee onboarding, refresher training, and skills development
Foster a respectful, safe, and team-oriented work environment
Maintain a tour ready facility at all times through organization and compliance
Promote continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence
Work independently and collaboratively to meet production and shipping deadlines
Adhere to all company, safety, and SQF guidelines and standards
Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting other departments during non-peak periods
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree a plus
2+ years of related warehouse experience
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Valid Drivers License required
Ability to work in multi-temperature warehouse environments, including cold/freezer areas (10F to 40F)
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs continuously and 50 lbs occasionally
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP Oracle/BAAN preferred
Must be able to work overtime during peak seasons or higher volume periods
Ability to safely use ladders and climb stairs throughout the shift
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff

Ability to work continuously or occasionally in cold storage environments (10F to 40F)
Lift up to 30 lbs continuously and 50 lbs occasionally
Walk and stand for 810 hours per shift; stoop, kneel, climb, and crawl as needed
Ability to safely use ladders and climb stairs repeatedly during the shift
