PART TIME RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

CUSP UO (Urban Observatory) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Part Time Research Associate to work in CUSP UO lab development

Through the novel use of observational and analytical techniques, the Urban Observatory at New York Universitys Center for Urban Science + Progress (CUSP-UO) studies the complex interactions between the physical, natural, and human components of the city as a coherent, definable system with the goal of enhancing public well-being, city operations, and future urban plans. With our persistent, synoptic imaging and sensing of NYC, researchers at the UO are developing insights into energy use and stresses on the power grid, measuring the environmental impact of cities on air quality, and characterizing how urban centers affect patterns of daily life and public health.

Expectations

Candidates will be responsible for helping and contributing in the deployment and development of CUSP urban observatory equipment and coding. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in Urban Science. Previous experience on coding development is necessary.

Salary range

In compliance with NYCs Pay Transparency Act, the base salary for this position is an hourly rate $26.37 for part time] depending on the candidates experience and qualification.

Expected start date and period of employment

Expected start date is: 09/01/2025. This position is expected to be for 12 months.This is a part time appointment and would require a work schedule of approximately 20 hours per week.

Candidates should have at least a Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Urban Engineering or related field. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
