Main functions:
The Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor is responsible for supervising Quality Technicians and Leads, maintaining lab equipment, scheduling employees, inventorying supplies and ensuring all quality, legal and food safety programs are being met, by maintaining quality standards.

Primary Objectives:

v Coordinate GSF Quality activities and operations to meet objectives for quality, food safety, regulatory compliances, cost, safety and customer satisfaction at KanPak.
v Participate in formulating and administering divisions short and long range goals and objectives for business growth.
  • Directly supervise and schedule up to 30 Quality Technicians and Leads
  • Ensure all Quality personnel follow strict company, state and federal regulations by reviewing and clearing all Quality Records including but not limited to: on-line packaging and product checks, finished product labeling checks, raw and finished product testing, temperature checks, bulk ingredient receiving testing, milk antibiotic testing, and microbial testing
  • Responsible for Production and Laboratory calibrations and the master calibration log
  • Perform lab equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
  • Coordinating sampling and reporting with Department of Ag
  • Tracking for USDA
  • Organize and delegates duties to be completed for suspect product
  • Maintains, collates and reports all written records associated with record review
  • Inventory and maintaining appropriate levels of Lab Supplies
  • Participate in Internal Auditing Team and represent the Lab in internal and external audits
  • Responsible for updating and creating programs to meet customer standards and Certified Body Standards
  • Any other duties as required


Employment Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years quality control and/or manufacturing experience
  • Experience with HACCP programs
  • Knowledge of Lab Analysis methods
  • Working knowledge of FDA and PMO regulations
  • Better Process School, preferred
  • Microbiology Certification, preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Food Science or related field, preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Good Documentation Practices
  • GMP Compliance
  • QC Technician functions
  • Ability to obtain certifications for Better Processing Control and HACCP
  • Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
  • Ability to communicate, present to all levels of an organization
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to solve problems as a team
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Flexibility to be available by phone 24/7
  • Flexibility to be able to work any shift as needed
