Job Description
Vice President of Finance
Location: Confidential – Upper Midwest
Industry: Manufacturing
Overview
A confidential growing manufacturing organization in the Upper Midwest region is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as both a strategic business partner and a hands-on financial leader. This is an opportunity for a proven finance executive who brings deep technical accounting expertise, a strong command of manufacturing operations, and a genuine connection to the people who make it all work—from the boardroom to the production floor.
This leader will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, driving performance, and supporting sustainable growth across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight of all finance, accounting, and reporting functions with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and operational excellence.
 - Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to inform strategic decisions and long-term business direction.
 - Partner with operations and engineering teams to manage cost accounting, inventory analysis, and production efficiencies.
 - Develop and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance and reliability in all financial reporting.
 - Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate investments, growth initiatives, and strategic opportunities.
 - Communicate financial insights clearly and confidently to executives, board members, and cross-functional leaders.
 - Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing finance team—one that thrives on accountability, collaboration, and shared purpose.
 - Qualifications
 - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CMA, CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
 - 8–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance and accounting.
 - At least 2 years in an executive or VP-level finance leadership role.
 - Strong technical grounding in accounting principles, cost accounting, and inventory management.
 - Demonstrated success supporting manufacturing operations and guiding financial strategy.
 - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—comfortable engaging across all levels of the organization.
 - A leadership style rooted in integrity, approachability, and strategic insight.

The Ideal Fit
The right person for this role began their career in accounting and advanced through finance leadership by combining technical mastery with business acumen. They understand how the numbers tell a story and how that story connects people, process, and performance. They’re as confident presenting to a board as they are walking the production floor, bridging the gap between strategic vision and operational reality.
