A leading regional healthcare provider is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacist to join its medical team in Rapid City, South Dakota. This position involves reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, advising on medication use, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety within a hospital and community pharmacy setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriate dosage, and suitability for patients.
Provide expert advice on drug interactions, side effects, and safe medication storage.
Dispense prescription and non-prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal and clinical standards.
Counsel patients on medication use, expected outcomes, and potential side effects.
Collaborate with healthcare providers on medication selection and therapy adjustments.
Monitor patient progress and provide pharmaceutical care across diverse patient populations.
Oversee pharmacy support staff and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Utilize electronic medical records and automated dispensing systems effectively.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Valid and active pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy (multi-state privileges a plus).
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug actions, and relevant state regulations.
Previous hospital or institutional pharmacy experience preferred.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work rotating 10-hour shifts in a collaborative healthcare setting.
