Responsibilities
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems, including performing load calculations, air and piping distribution, and sizing equipment.
- Select appropriate equipment and prepare specifications.
- Conduct fieldwork for design investigation and construction observation.
- Prepare design layouts and schematics for commercial and industrial mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines, including architectural, electrical, and structural teams.
- Review the work of others to ensure design integrity and compliance with codes and standards.
- Perform on-site investigations to verify existing conditions.
- Develop familiarity with and apply current mechanical codes and standards.
- Build relationships with personnel from other disciplines and manufacturing sales representatives.
- Prepare general and mechanical specifications.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Revit.
- At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design.
- Strong knowledge of engineering calculations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer/Designer or Electrical Engineer/Designer for building systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit in producing construction documents for commercial or retail building projects.
