Medical Billing Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Possess comprehensive understanding of all functions and workflows within the Billing Department.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills through effective identification and analysis of issues.
• Develop and evaluate alternative approaches to determine viable solutions.
• Maintain a structured and efficient workflow to ensure timely accounting and smooth coverage during team absences.
• Adhere to established departmental procedures and consult with supervisors when clarification is needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, representing the department and organization positively.
• Actively contribute to a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.
• Consistently meet or surpass departmental expectations for productivity and work quality.
• Apply knowledge of applicable compliance regulations accurately in daily responsibilities.
• Follow all relevant departmental, organizational, and regulatory guidelines.
• Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
• Work toward achieving annual performance objectives.
• Exhibit initiative and resourcefulness in resolving issues and conducting research.
• Show willingness to support colleagues and participate in special assignments.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Required Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 5 (minimum) or more years of Medical Billing experience or education or demonstrated Billing knowledge
• Previous experience in computerized medical billing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and other third-party claims processing, ICD-10 and HCPCS/CPT coding, and medical terminology.
