Inpatient Pharmacist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Inpatient Pharmacist to join a respected healthcare facility in Hays, KS for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in acute care hospital pharmacy, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and excel in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective medication therapy management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive pharmacy services to acute care and inpatient units.

• Verify, prepare, and dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and institutional policies.

• Conduct medication reviews, monitor for drug interactions, and adjust dosages as clinically indicated.

• Participate in interdisciplinary patient care rounds and provide pharmacotherapy consultations.

• Support medication reconciliation and transitions of care processes.

• Utilize hospital technology and automation systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy in dispensing.

Qualifications:

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution – required

• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of recent inpatient or acute care hospital pharmacy experience – required

• EMR Meditech experience is required

Certification & Licensing:

• Active and unrestricted Kansas Pharmacist License – required prior to start

• BLS certification 

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of hospital formulary management and medication safety

• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
