Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Master HVAC Service Technician (A Tech / Senior Tech) to join our Building Services Division. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, independence, and leadership in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

As a Master Tech, you will serve as a senior field resource, capable of handling the most complex service calls, supporting junior technicians, and representing Upchurch Services with professionalism and customer focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on advanced HVAC systems including:

    • VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) Systems

    • Chillers

    • Boilers

    • Make-Up Air (MAU) Units

    • Refrigeration Systems

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and controls.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced technicians.

  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate service documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and build long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years as a commercial HVAC Service Technician, with demonstrated mastery of advanced systems.

  • Certifications:

    • Valid EPA Certification (Universal preferred)

    • Journeyman or Master HVAC License (where applicable)

  • Skills:

    • Proven expertise in VRF, chillers, boilers, refrigeration, and MAUs.

    • Basic understanding of BAS/controls integration.

    • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Valid drivers license and insurable driving record.

    • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
