Electrical Journeyman

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, devices, and equipment in commercial construction projects.

• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to determine wiring layouts and material requirements.

• Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety policies.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using proper testing equipment.

• Collaborate with foremen, general contractors, and other trades to complete tasks efficiently.

• Mentor and guide apprentices, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety practices.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe manner.

• Perform quality checks to ensure installations meet specifications before project completion.

Qualifications:

• Current Journeyman Electrician License (state-issued, required).

• 3+ years of electrical experience in commercial construction.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and the NEC.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications.

• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments.

• Commitment to safety and teamwork in a construction environment.

• Reliable transportation and willingness to work on various project sites.
