Position Purpose:
The Pharmacy Manager serves as the first level manager to plan, organize, staff, direct and ensure the provision of pharmaceutical care in collaboration with all members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Do:
- Recommend, implement and evaluate pharmacy practice models to optimize patient treatment outcomes within the limits of available
- pharmacist resources, including: drug and safety monitoring, intervention and documentation, medication therapy management, and quality improvement.
- Recommend, implement and evaluate annual clinical practice goals with objective evaluation plans, including supporting data systems.
- Plan and maintain departmental budgets and resources with an eye for detail and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Leaders across the system to establish evaluation plans for pharmacist practice models that demonstrate improved patient outcomes.
- Respond to practice and regulatory trends with proposals to optimize pharmacist roles and responsibilities to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
- Provide coaching, direction, support, and supervision for pharmacists, technical, and support staff.
- Oversee pharmacy talent development plans, including pharmacy residents, students, and interns, to ensure sustainable pharmacy staffing throughout the health system.
- Assist with orientation, competency assessments, continuing education, and practicum evaluations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy required; Master of Science in Hospital Pharmacy or other advanced professional or management degree is preferred.
- Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
- Experience: Completion of a Pharmacy Residency program or two years of practical, hands-on experience as a pharmacist in a retail pharmacy is required. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory and administrative experience in a Pharmacy Services Department of comparable size and scope is preferred.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to assure quality, safety, productivity and operational costs.
