Job Description


Position Overview:

A well-established healthcare organization specializing in mental and behavioral health is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join their outpatient clinic located in Naples, Florida. The successful candidate will provide individual and/or family behavioral therapy and support continuity of care for patients within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between the clinic and external agencies to ensure coordinated and consistent care.

  • Conduct initial psychosocial evaluations, including DSM-V diagnoses, clinical observations, and treatment planning.

  • Complete billing, documentation, and progress notes promptly after each session, ensuring all records align with treatment goals and patient outcomes.

  • Communicate any patient care concerns to the clinical leadership team.

  • Deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions to patients and their families.

  • Submit billing information promptly and maintain organized, accessible records.

  • Provide continuous supervision and observation of behavioral health patients, applying non-violent crisis intervention techniques when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a mental health–related field.

  • Active and valid Florida license as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification within 90 days of hire, maintained in active status throughout employment.

  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within 180 days of hire, maintained in active status.

  • Level II background screening (fingerprinting) required.

  • At least 2–3 years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues in a multidisciplinary setting.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Capacity to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
