Job Description
Position Overview:
A well-established healthcare organization specializing in mental and behavioral health is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join their outpatient clinic located in Naples, Florida. The successful candidate will provide individual and/or family behavioral therapy and support continuity of care for patients within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between the clinic and external agencies to ensure coordinated and consistent care.
Conduct initial psychosocial evaluations, including DSM-V diagnoses, clinical observations, and treatment planning.
Complete billing, documentation, and progress notes promptly after each session, ensuring all records align with treatment goals and patient outcomes.
Communicate any patient care concerns to the clinical leadership team.
Deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions to patients and their families.
Submit billing information promptly and maintain organized, accessible records.
Provide continuous supervision and observation of behavioral health patients, applying non-violent crisis intervention techniques when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a mental health–related field.
Active and valid Florida license as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification within 90 days of hire, maintained in active status throughout employment.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within 180 days of hire, maintained in active status.
Level II background screening (fingerprinting) required.
At least 2–3 years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues in a multidisciplinary setting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Capacity to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
