The Nurse Practitioner provides high-quality medical care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting. This role will collaborate with the entire healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care delivery, and will develop treatment plans (with and without pharmaceutical intervention), perform procedures, and manage chronic conditions.How YOU can Make an Impact:
Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to inmates in accordance with established policies and clinical guidelines.
Perform assessments, diagnose, and treat patients, including ordering appropriate tests.
Maintain confidentiality of patient medical information/history, upholding HIPAA regulations and medical ethics.
Participate in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans and ensure they are followed in a timely manner.
Provide on-call services as needed, including after-hours care, as directed by the facility or company requirements.
Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards by consistently performing thorough and accurate clinical tasks.
Respect and adhere to safety, infection control, and operational policies, ensuring a safe and effective healthcare environment.
Collaborate with medical and correctional staff to ensure smooth operations, resolve issues, and enhance patient care delivery.
What we Ask of YOU:
Available to join us Full Time, with all 32 hours per week on-site.
A current, valid, and unrestricted license as APRN or similar (e.g., CNS) from the Commonwealth of Virginia
Board Certified in a primary care clinical discipline (Family Medicine, Adult/Gerontology, Emergency Medicine, or similar).
A current and valid DEA registration, or be willing to obtain the DEA Registration.
2-4 years of clinical practice desired, with at least some experience in a correctional or underserved setting helpful.
Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross) required prior to Start Date.
