Description:
Position Purpose:
- As a skilled Culinary Professional, produces a safe and high-quality food product according to established guidelines, systems and recipes. Maintains a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment. Committed to customer and patient satisfaction. Communicates daily with supervisors and other team members effectively in a supportive and helpful way. Persons in this classification may be responsible for batch, large quantity, and short order types of cooking. May also function as a lead.
What You Will Do:
- Communicates and reviews menu and special orders daily with supervisors and other team members in a professional and supportive manner to determine production schedule and quantities of food items to be prepared for the day. Follows standardized recipes in preparation of all foods.
- Reads production tally/menu and organizes workload to have food items prepared by the specified deadlines in sufficient quantity. Maintains proper workflow when line cooking.
- Adheres to all applicable guidelines regarding the storage, handling, and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of work area.
- Reports problems with equipment to supervisor.
- Ensures food preparation areas are clean, sanitized, and orderly always. Utilizes proper chemical and cleaning/sanitation techniques.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Advanced culinary training from a vocational/ technical school or culinary college preferred.
- Licensure / Certification: Completion of Sanitation Certification Course or ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional culinary experience. Commercial large volume cooking experience preferred.
- Effective Communication Skills
- Knowledge of food preparation by recipe required.
