What this job involves: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems within the facility, ensuring optimal building operations, safety compliance, and leading a team of technicians and contractors to maintain critical infrastructure systems.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Monitor operation and maintain refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilating, filters, and other mechanical/electrical equipment while reviewing logs to ensure proper operation and reporting problems/malfunctions as needed
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and oversee repair and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems
- Manage UPS systems and generator functions with good understanding of their operations
- Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies by preparing purchase order requests, developing sources for stock materials, and performing periodic inventory checks
- Oversee contractor activities within the building, whether representing the building or tenant operations
- Work closely with site Operations Manager and understand the Statement of Work (SOW) in place
- Identify safety hazards and incorporate remediation to ensure staff and occupants work in a safe environment
- Implement, administer, and manage safety training programs
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines related to building infrastructure operations
- Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation including up-to-date building drawings, single-lines, and regulatory compliance documentation
- Supervise and manage workflow, contractors, and vendors to ensure work completion within SLA standards
- Assign work orders to employees or vendors as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as Lead Tech/Tech II
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and MS Office
- Strong communication skills
- Leadership abilities with willingness to take ownership
- Understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and building systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with UPS systems and generators
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements
- Safety training certification
- Contractor management experience
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Some Saturdays or Sunday work required.
Salary/Comp: Pay range: $34-36/hour
