Painting Estimator Construction

Howard Grote & Sons, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Painting Estimator to join our team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and professional project estimates while supporting positive relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

What You’ll Do:

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work

• Prepare accurate estimates that consider risk factors and construction methods

• Maintain up-to-date files, working documents, and vendor/subcontractor databases

• Request, review, and log quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

• Support other departments and assist with various tasks as needed

• Visit project sites to observe construction methods

• Participate in bid review and project hand-off meetings

• Perform post-bid analysis and assist with cost control system setup

• Deliver major bids, pick up drawings, and manage miscellaneous bid-related tasks

• Update company website with current bid information

• Communicate and reinforce the company’s vision, values, and goals

What We’re Looking For:

• 3–5 years of construction field experience

• Strong math, computer, and estimating skills

• Ability to conceptualize project schedules from start to finish

• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and project sequencing

• Ability to interpret complex blueprints and computerized cost data

• Equivalent combinations of technical training and experience are considered
