ADAMH is currently searching for our next Senior Director of Marketing and Communication. We are seeking a leader who brings strong skills in advancing strategic priorities, strengthening community and media relationships, maintaining visibility, and providing counsel and support to senior leadership to promote access to behavioral health services throughout Franklin County.

What you'll do:

  • Direct media relations across earned, paid, and owned channels; serve as ADAMH's primary spokesperson; build strong relationships with all media entities; and lead press conferences and other media engagements.
  • Drive multimedia campaigns to raise awareness of ADAMH services and access to care across Franklin County.
  • Build partnerships with providers and community organizations to amplify ADAMH messaging and impact.
  • Collaborate with staff and partners to reduce stigma and educate on the importance of behavioral health services.
  • Support CEO thought leadership with speeches, presentations, talking points, columns, opinion pieces, and public opportunities.
  • Oversee issues management and crisis communications; provide counsel to the CEO and senior leaders; and manage the organization's crisis communication plan.
  • Serve as brand ambassador, ensuring consistency of visual identity and brand voice.
  • Oversee publications, website, social media, and other materials to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
  • Provide communications support for senior leaders across departments, including media guidance, marketing materials, and preparation of briefs and presentations.
  • Use research and engagement strategies to connect with culturally and economically diverse communities.
  • Develop and implement an annual communications plan, including budget and staffing needs.
  • Manage and coach the Communications team, fostering, inclusion, accountability, and performance.
  • Manage the public affairs budget to achieve goals efficiently.
  • Oversee corporate and community sponsorship strategies.
  • Supervises, trains, and provides work direction and problem-solving assistance for personnel, including oversight of daily operations of assigned staff.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must be willing to undertake some travel.
  • Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

Education:

Master's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience:

Seven (7) years' work experience in public relations, marketing or communications, preferably in a public institution or non-profit organization.

Five (5) years' of management and/or supervisory experience.

Strong preference for candidates with established relationships with local media outlets.

Skills:

Knowledge of marketing, communications, public relations, and media relations across earned, paid, and owned channels.

Experience working closely with executive leadership and Board level leaders.

Experience with crisis communication strategies, planning, and execution.

Experience with digital communications, analytics, and emerging platforms.

Experience with communication and engagement strategies that are inclusive and multicultural.

Demonstrated ability to craft clear, compelling written and verbal

communications, including speeches, presentations, columns, and opinion pieces.

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and manage a communications team to achieve performance outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and community partners.

Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective multimedia campaigns that build awareness and engagement.

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, prioritize projects, and use data to guide decision-making.

Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor, manage sensitive issues, and represent ADAMH with confidence and professionalism.
