Overview

Directs the plant’s production activities on a designated shift in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely production of product. Assures quality and safety while achieving established goals and objectives.

**2:30-midnight shift generally

Responsibilities

Operational Excellence Lead shift production and material handling operations, ensuring seamless workflows and timely execution of production objectives. Oversee a team of dedicated employees to maximize efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety while maintaining high-quality standards.

Strategic Budget & Cost Control Review a nd manage production budgets with a sharp focus on cost efficiency. Optimize labor resources through smart scheduling and workforce utilization to maintain control over labor costs and improve operational output.

Performance Optimization Maintain peak shift performance by implementing scheduling best practices, monitoring production metrics, and reinforcing quality and safety standards. Proactively reduce downtime, maintenance costs, and product rework to drive operational success.

Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, along with company policies. Uphold strict adherence to quality, food safety, and HAACP programs, ensuring that all standards meet customer and government expectations.

Leadership & Employee Development Empower employees through training, coaching, and professional development. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while maintaining strong relationships within the company and local community.

Cross-Functional Coordination Partner with department managers and supervisors to enhance material handling, maintenance, accounting, and inventory control strategies. Align operations with best practices to sustain high levels of productivity and cleanliness.

Commitment to Excellence Champion workplace standards that drive cleanliness, productivity, and operational precision. Provide timely and accurate production reporting while ensuring adherence to all quality and safety programs.

Additional Responsibilities Take on evolving challenges and responsibilities as needed, always striving for efficiency and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years production supervisor/lead experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food-related industry.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling and production processes.
  • Associate Degree in related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.

Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift while moving about the facility. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud. Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beardnets (if facial hair exists) and steel toed / slip-resistant shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
