Position Summary Reporting to the EHS Supervisor, the SHS Coordinator will work with employees and leadership to ensure all employees are trained on safety procedures as well as daily follow up to ensure proper PPE use. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to compete tasks with little to no supervision. Position Responsibilities
- Ensure that all plant safety policies and procedures reflect OSHA and ofi requirements and are uniformly enforced.
- Ensure that all plant safety policies and procedures reflect current federal and state regulatory agencies and ofi requirements and are uniformly enforced.
- Occasionally train and maintain records of managers and supervisor's regarding their responsibilities within the plant safety programs.
- Function as the liaison to management for the safety committee.
- Investigate loss and near loss incidents.
- Provide necessary safety and OSHA training to all employees.
- Perform routine safety and environmental audits of the plant as required by regulations and the ofi policy.
- Assist plant management in training personnel within their specific departments.
- Interact with all members of the plant team to promote a safety and friendly culture.
- Maintain Subject Matter Expertise in Health, Safety and Environment.
- Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of safety equipment.
- Perform safety orientation for New hires.
- Works collaboratively on a team to ensure an injury-free work environment.
- Works collaboratively with regulatory agencies and customers.
- Communicates well, both orally and written.
- Listens to concerns and suggestions from team members and provides timely feedback.
- Understands matters related to and relative to safety matters and issues.
- Provides guidance and counsel to others.
- Must effectively organize, coordinate and execute.
- Assist in development and/or executing strategic plans to meet departmental and organizational goals while complying with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma required, BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent experience working in related field is preferred.
- 3+ yrs. of manufacturing experience preferred
- 1+ yrs. of direct safety and responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer experience required
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
